Formula D, Long Beach: Day 2

Welcome back to our 2011 Formula D, Long Beach coverage.  If you thought Day 1 was interesting, well let me tell you, Day 2 was no walk in the park either.

As I’m looking at bracket that was handed out for the competition, only one thing ran through my mind.  I don’t know who half of these guys are.  But you know what?  This is kinda cool.  Honestly, it gets a little boring when the same guys win all the time.  It’s nice to know that the passion and general skill levels are still growing.  The future looks good.

I won’t sit here an bore you with the play-by-play, let me skip all that and say congrats to Justin Pawlak and his Falken Tire team.  He was definitely the best, most consistent driver on this day.  Matt Powers finished second, and the guy I thought would win it all, Dai Yoshihara, finished the day in third place.

Let me sign off with this final thought…For those of you that made it out, you guys were treated to great show.  There is nothing like watching, smelling, and inhaling drifting in person.  For those of you that watched on the live stream, at least you got to see it.   And those of you that missed it…you have no idea….
